Community Guidelines

Last updated: August 24, 2026

These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and the agreement you accept when you use Subo.

Subo is an accountability app: you post photo "proof" of habits and tasks and share it with friends and groups. It only works if it feels safe. These Guidelines explain what's welcome, what isn't, and what happens when someone crosses the line. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior.

What we expect

  • Be real. Post your own genuine proof. Don't impersonate other people or misrepresent who you are.
  • Be kind. Treat other people the way you'd want to be treated in a small, supportive community.
  • Respect privacy. Don't post other people's private information, and don't share someone else's photo of them without their okay.
  • Own your content. Only post photos and text you have the right to post.

What's not allowed

You may not post, share, or send content that:

  • Harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates anyone.
  • Is hateful or promotes violence or hatred against people based on who they are (race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, age, sexual orientation, or similar).
  • Is sexually explicit, or sexualizes minors in any way. Child sexual abuse material results in an immediate permanent ban and is reported to the authorities.
  • Promotes or encourages self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.
  • Depicts or promotes illegal activity, dangerous acts, or the sale of illegal or regulated goods.
  • Infringes someone else's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  • Is spam, a scam, or a deliberate attempt to deceive or defraud other users.
  • Attempts to hack, disrupt, or abuse the app or other users.

Reporting and blocking

If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, you can act on it from inside the app:

  • Report content or a user (the ⋯ menu on a profile or proof, or long-press a comment).
  • Block a user — they disappear from your feed, profiles, proofs, and comments, in both directions, and any friendship is removed.

We review reports and aim to act promptly, typically within 24 hours.

What happens when someone breaks the rules

Depending on severity and history, we may:

  • Remove the content.
  • Warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban the account.
  • For the most serious violations (such as child sexual abuse material or credible threats), immediately and permanently ban the account and, where required, report it to law enforcement.

Permanently banned users may not create new accounts.
